The sampled stuff might not be the best, but over all you do get a lot of awesome stuff. With that said, Komplete 11 Ultimate is still probably the best bang for buck you can get.

The rest of the stuff is mostly film/tv scorings oriented so I rarely get much use out of it.
#KOMPLETE ULTIMATE 11 VS 10 UPDATE#
The basses are pretty decent, I really like the Rickenbacker library. This was more convenient for me than buying Ultimate - even if it sums up the same - because an Update for Ultimate is always twice the price as an Update for Komplete Standard, and you always want to update when they introduce new synths to the Komplete package. Honestly, most of the factory content is pretty mediocre, probably since most of that stuff was recorded like 10 years ago. The rest of the guitars included in the factory library are really mediocre. The guitars are definitely lacking as they only include one "funky" guitar phrase library an one acoustic guitar phrase library. The percussion/world stuff is pretty cool (Cuba, West Africa, India, Balinese). Horn wise, I think I'm covered with KU11. All these strings and I'm still on the verge of dropping $350 on Spitfire's London Contemporary Orchestra. Action Strings is great but relies on pre-recorded phrases, same with Emotive Strings.
#KOMPLETE ULTIMATE 11 VS 10 PRO#
Session Strings Pro has served me well over the years, but it's not the best sounding nor very realistic sounding. Strings wise, like I mentioned in my original comment, the Symphony series are a bit lacking in terms of realism specially because of the lack of round robin variations but at least the quality is pretty top notch. In terms of pianos and keyboards, I'm still itching to get Keyscape and would probably reach for it for most keyboard duties, but maybe not for pianos. I could even see myself using those more than I use the AbbeyRoad drum libraries and the rest of the included drums. Still, even with all the drums that comes with KU11, I'm still itching to get Addictive drums, GetGood Drums (from the members of Periphery), and maybe even some more Steven Slate stuff. To go a little more in detail about KU11's sample content.įirst of all, there's definitely a lot of variety in terms of drums, pianos and strings. I just wish Omnisphere 2 had more conventional stuff and KU11 had more variety (yeah, 400 gigs of samples and not enough variety LOL!). Omnisphere is awesome if you want inspiring sounds, but if you're looking for bread and butter then you better look elsewhere because Omnisphere is more like pistachio butter and cherry chipotle pepper jelly on a baguette.Īnyways, with all that said, I sure am glad that I have both of these. The Spitfire libraries I've looked into have double that amount. For example, the Symphonic Series (essentials or even the upgrades) only have 4 round robin samples for each velocity range which is absolutely ridiculous.

Most of the stuff it comes with is geared towards movie composers and honestly isn't that great compared to what else is out there. Honestly, if you're only interested in sample content, I would probably recommend skipping KU11 unless you already own Komplete and want to take advantage of the 50% summer sale.

Omisphere 2 focuses more on experimental instruments while Komplete Ultimate focuses more on cinematic stuff. These are two completely different beasts.

I have Omisphere 2 and Komplete Ultimate 11
